Help
Fantasy WSL is a fantasy football game, that is entirely free to play, and follows the FA Women's Super League. Upon registering, you can arrange a squad containing a mixture of players from across the league. As players have an impact in the real-world, they score points in the game. If those players are in your squad, you earn those points too.
Rules
Your squad
Your initial squad can contain fifteen players. The total value of these players must not exceed £100 million. You can select up to three players from any given team in the FA Women's Super League. Teams must consist as follows:
- 2 goalkeepers
- 5 defenders
- 5 midfielders
- 3 forwards
Gameweeks
The season is divided into twenty-two gameweeks, containing games taking place at a similar time – usually over the span of a single weekend.
The deadline for each gameweek is 90 minutes before the beginning of its first match. If the games are rescheduled, we may shift the deadlines. If they do change, we will let you know on the site, and via social media.
Your team, and your starting squad, are fixed for the duration of each gameweek. Any transfers, or changes made to your formation, take effect when the next gameweek begins.
Scoring
Scoring is tied to player performance on the field, and is as follows:
- 1 point - playing one minute or more in a single match
- 1 point - playing sixty minutes or more in a single match
- 6 points - a goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender
- 5 points - a goal scored by a midfielder
- 4 points - a goal scored by a forward
- 3 points - an assist
- 4 points - a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender
- 1 point - a clean sheet by a midfielder
- 5 points - a penalty saved by a goalkeeper
- -1 point - receiving a yellow card
- -3 points - receiving a red card
- -2 points - scoring an own goal
- -1 point - for every two goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender
- -2 points - for a missed/saved penalty
Bonus points
Bonus points are awarded to the best performing players in each gameweek. These are calculated based on player performance, and are awarded to the top three players in each match.
Players are ranked using an internal bonus point system, which rewards consistently strong play: such as tackles, passes, crosses, and clearances.
The top player in each match receives three bonus points, the second best receives two, and the third best receives one. If two or more players are ranked equally, all of them receive the same bonus points.
Captains & Vice-captains
Your squad contains one captain, who earns double their usual points. You can change your captain every week.
Your squad also contains one vice-captain. If your captain does not play, your vice-captain will become your captain for that week, and earn the double points instead.
Power-ups
Power-ups are a one-time boost to your team. They can be used at any time, and last for one gameweek, so use them wisely. You can only use one power up at a time.
Triple Captain
When this is played, your captain scores triple points for the week, rather then the usual double.
Bench Boost
All your players score points for the week, rather than just the eleven in your starting squad.
The Wall
Your clean sheet points are doubled for the week. This means goalkeepers and defenders get 8 points, rather than the usual 4. Midfielders get 2 points, rather than 1.
Transfers
During pre-season, you can make unlimited transfers. Once the season begins, you can make two free transfers between each deadline. Every transfer above that limit will incur a deduction of four points from your total.
