As every season Fantasy manager will know, it's a struggle to pick your starting XI each week. It's even more of a struggle deciding which player will be your captain, and therefore collect double points in that gameweek. But perhaps the biggest struggle for the hardcore managers among us is knowing how, and when, to play their power-ups.

New to Fantasy WSL, or need a refresher on your power-up options? This article lays out the choices available to you, what they do, and some tips on how to use them.

What are power-ups and how do I use them?

Power-ups are available in Fantasy WSL as a way of boosting your points in any given gameweek. There are three power-ups you can use: Triple Captain, Bench Boost, and The Wall.

Each power-up can be found at the top of the Formation page, and can be selected while you're choosing your team for the week. However, once you use a power-up, it's gone for the rest of the season, so make sure you use it wisely!

What does each power-up do?

1. Triple Captain

This one pretty much does what it says on the tin. When you play Triple Captain, your team's captain for the week with receive triple points rather than double. This power-up is best used when one of your forwards has an easy fixture, and you know they're in the mood for putting a few past the keeper.

2. Bench Boost

Selecting Bench Boost means that all players in your squad will receive points that gameweek, even if you didn't select them for your starting XI. This is a good one to play when you're spoilt for choice on who to pick, or when several teams on your squad have a double gameweek.

3. The Wall

The Wall is a power-up for all the defenders out there. When you play The Wall, all clean sheet points for that week will be doubled. As a reminder, GKPs and DEFs get four points for a clean sheet, and MIDs get one.

Remember, use them wisely, because once they're gone, they're gone! For more tips and tricks, make sure to follow us on our socials.
