Defence

Keating & Greenwood

The league's best defence are facing a Brighton side that's failed to score in nearly half their games this season — it's a great time for a Man City defensive double-up if there ever was one. It took a Bennison banger to end Man City's run of clean sheets last time, and it's not a bad play to bet against lightning striking twice. As in GW 15, Greenwood's chances of bonus make her the most attractive pick in that Man City backline as she's matching forwards Kelly and Hemp for a bonus this season.

Le Tissier

At home against a side rock bottom of the table, this is where Man United's defence thrives. They were minutes away from a clean sheet at West Ham and I like their chances of getting one against Bristol City enough to trust any member of their defence this week. It's tough to split that group, but her non-zero set piece threat against Bristol City and her bonus points at West Ham and Arsenal give Le Tissier, Man United's top-scoring defender and the WSL's 5th overall, something of an edge this week.

Fisk

Liverpool's most involved defender is a bonus point machine - Fisk's season tally of 7 is the most of any WSL player. Her strong shot at bonus points is genuinely a fantastic upside in case Liverpool keeps a clean sheet and great insurance in case they don't, but the former seems more likely. Fisk is up against a West Ham attack that's struggled away from home, failing to score in 4/7 games on the road this season. Liverpool themselves were seconds away from a clean sheet at West Ham earlier this season. Throw in Fisk's impressive job security in that Liverpool backline on top of her chances at a clean sheet and bonus points, and she looks a great pick.

Midfield

Clinton and Cayman

Spurs and Leicester are two incredibly similar teams playing each other this week - almost identical league form and goals scored/conceded tallies. They might just cancel each other out, but they're both poor enough defensively to keep your attacking picks interesting. Spurs have only kept one clean sheet all season and Leicester's only shutouts have come against the notoriously goal-shy Everton. With that in mind, there's clear value in the midfield in Clinton and Cayman. Both mids are goal threats - four each this season - in a good attacking game and a lock for minutes. Cayman scored in the reverse fixture and while Clinton has a high ceiling with her assists and shot at bonus points - 4 this season, including the top bonus at West Ham.

Toone

One return for Toone in the last 5 games makes for grim reading, but Bristol City at home is the kind of fixture you should target aggressively and, besides Nikita Parris, nobody else at Man United comes close to matching Toone's overall returns (7) and her comparative security of minutes. She grabbed a couple of assists when these two met earlier this season, and if you're playing for the fixture, there are few better mids than Toone this week.

Höbinger

Liverpool's attractive run of fixtures continues with West at Ham home this week. Despite the odd blank and the risk of reduced minutes, Höbinger is easily the best-attacking pick at this club. 6 returns this season - joint best at Liverpool - plus set-piece duties against a West Ham side that's only kept one clean sheet this season makes a persuasive argument for her in gameweek 16.

Attack

Shaw

Man City have one of the best-attacking games this week, away at the league's second-worst defence, Brighton. Any of their attackers look good for this one, but Bunny's extraordinary form is specifically worth noting - returns in 8 of the last 9 games, 15 returns during this run overall. Even under an injury cloud, those are the kind of returns worth risking potentially reduced minutes for.

Parris

Man United's top scorer has the best game of the lot - home to a Bristol City side that just shipped 7. Has a habit of converting returns into hauls: of the 5 games in which Parris has scored this season, she's netted twice in three of them. Plus, top bonus is on the table if she repeats the trick on Sunday, making that haul truly enormous. -Parris' braces against Villa and Brighton earlier this season were backed up by 3 bonus points in both games.

James

Back from suspension, LJ with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge looks like a good pick. The combination of a favoured venue - where she's hit 2 hattricks this season - and an opponent who's slipped up a couple of times on the road this season lines up nicely for James, who is Chelsea's top scorer by a long way. Even with Emma Hayes mentioning she might be out due to illness, she's still the pick to have from Chelsea this week, who have scored more than once in 7/8 home games this season - that's a popular forward in a team that consistently excels in attack at home.
