Many Fantasy Managers found themselves in a pickle last weekend, as the postponed Chelsea vs United fixture ruled out many of the game's top scorers.
But that also gave us all the opportunity to take a closer look at some of the less popular names already making waves this season.
If one thing's for sure, there was plenty of drama to enjoy – and some key lessons to be learned – from Gameweek 3. So without further ado, let's take a look back at some of those key moments before we head into Gameweek 4.
1. Höbinger wins it for Liverpool
Marie Höbinger has done it again. A 15-point haul for the Austrian, including two goals and three Bonus Points, makes her an essential for your squad now. Despite Liverpool's narrow victory, Höbinger stole the show.
2. Red cards galore in Crawley
The Brighton vs Villa fixture was certainly the highlight of the weekend's drama, with a red card each for either side, one which was converted into a penalty. Yes - Paula Tomás not only gave the Seagulls a shot on goal, but she's also earned herself a three match suspension too.
Aston Villa’s appeal to reduce Paula Tomas’ three-match suspension has been unsuccessful. She will miss games against Leicester, Manchester City and Liverpool. #avfc
3. Crystal Palace took the King Power by storm
A 2-0 for Palace away at Leicester has finally kicked off their WSL campaign. The Eagles looked in fine form as Annabel Blanchard netted two goals, with assists from Katie Stengel and Lexi Potter. Leicester City seemed to lose their way in this match, leaving Fantasy Managers wondering if they merit including in their match day squad. Palace, on the other hand, have many Visionary players who look like a good choice right now.
4. Van Domselaar cements her place in Fantasy WSL
When Daphne van Domselaar came to Arsenal in the summer, many wondered where this would leave the team's No.1 Manu Zinsberger in the starting line-up. Well, looks like Van Domselaar is making her way to the front of the line, securing six points in Arsenal's draw against Everton. Time will tell if this is permanent, but it if it is, you might want to get ahead of the game and transfer her in now.
5. Nikita Parris finds her feet (and then some) at Brighton
Höbinger wasn't the only player bringing home the bacon this weekend. Nikita Parris secured an impressive 10 points in the fixture against Villa, claiming a goal and an assist for the Seagulls. This was also her first start for Brighton in the WSL, and there's no doubt we'll be seeing more of her. This is a player you are going to want on your squad.
